A Modern Sanctuary in the Heart of the City
Located inside the city of Manhattan, New-York, Bachelors' Pad was meant to be an artistic interpretation of a classy escape where the client wanted a place to call home that was stylish yet comfortable. The idea was to cross the line between modern elegance and cozy ambiance and liveability so their home can become a true extension of their personality and a place to entertain guests and just unwind from busy schedules.
The end result is a contemporary home layered with palettes of bold colors, luxurious textures, and natural surfaces. Each room was intended to carry a particular mood, while a steady flow from room to room joined together the home as one.
Master Bedroom: A Warm and Tranquil Home
The master bedroom is an intimate retreat enriched with a custom walnut platform bed set against copper-hued wall panels. The feature wall acts as a source of warmth in this space and is further complemented by recessed lighting and a sleek built-in shelf that doubles as storage and display.
There is a clean, crisp texture about the bedding, lined in deep tans and indigos, contrasting strong patterns with the earthy browns on the wall. The greenery and floral pop out against the muted warm brown dial and the nice cool blue desk shade downstairs. The ending note of the whole bedroom is a calming, serene, and grounded ambiance.
Lounge Nook: Comfort in Simplicity
The calm spur for reading and contemplations lies just a few steps away from the bedroom, where an exquisite, sculptural lounge chair in rich blue velvet sits. Providing maximum comfort, the ottoman complements the chair, while nearby, something airy-the striped drapes flow along the window. All these combine to engender a light and soothing atmosphere in this very simple nook.
Guest Bedroom: Inviting with Bold Warmth
The guest bedroom tells a louder story with a furnished burnt orange bed and matching drapery. Set against chocolate-colored holding, the palette creates a warm feel through texture pillows. To create an ambience of intimacy along with a fun contemporary vibe for the space, the design is completed with a round mirror and soft light. It's a space that makes the visitor feel at home and spoiled.
Bathroom: Classic Elegance Meets Practical Luxury
This bathroom made for an elegant spa treatment experience, where smooth gray marble tiles covered a portion of the wall, and the hexagonal mosaic tiles covered the floor. The room is anchored by a custom wood vanity whose artistic details command attention, all the while being complemented by the smooth and elegant marble countertop. The striking contrast of sleek marble surfaces with the elaborately carved wood highlights the flawless artisanal workmanship throughout the space.
With a glass-enclosed shower perceived as lighter and modern, the wooden bench adds warmth and utility. An equilibrium of natural texture with slick surfaces turns the bathroom into a soothing bath: functional, classy, and unforced.
Study and Media Room: Partnering Multifunctional Modern Living
The study in question was to be a space that equally balances work and leisure. Along one wall runs a built-in desk with cabinetry, providing plenty of working surfaces, while on the opposite side, a chunky indigo velvet sofa fills the lounge area.
Side tables with sculptured brass bases that sit well with the sofa, while chosen art and contemporary lighting bring in edge and personality. It is a versatile room transitioning seamlessly from busy mornings to laid-back evenings and, therefore, really able to express the flexibility needed in urban living.
Dining Room: Elegance in Gathering
The dining room portrayed the last gasp of hospitality and style. Underneath a long, live-edge walnut table lies a thick carpet in dark tones, and the chairs are upholstered to keep that fine line between form and comfort.
Above hangs a sculptural chandelier of glass globes for dramatic effect, while a wall-mounted mirror disperses light and thereby makes the space look larger. The design is easy on the eyes yet sets the cards for intimate dinners.
