Remove Blockages with Feng Shui: Challenging Walls and Feng Shui Solutions

tropical-mural1 Instead of having your energy blocked, focus on absorbing high feng shui energy from inspiring images, colors and various feng shui decor items

In Feng Shui, the right location of walls can promote a good flow of energy and enhance the positive feelings in a home. A challenging wall location will do the opposite - it can block, or completely stop the flow of energy, thus creating a stagnant space where not much good is happening.

There are several walls that can create potential feng shui challenges in your home and in your office. We will look at them one by one. As with most walls, you would most probably want to make them disappear, especially if they are too close to your body.

Now, how do you make a wall disappear without actually tearing it down? You make it a carry, or represent, a specific quality of energy. A quality of energy you need, want or crave for. It is also important to be sure that the art or images you bring will work for the Bagua area the wall is located in.

Let's look at some potentially challenging feng shui walls.

1. The first important feng shui wall is the wall you see before you go to sleep and as soon as you wake up.

Everything in your bedroom is closely connected to your energy field, especially the items, images and colors on the wall facing your bed

Focus on having your bedroom reflect a quality of energy that is most in line with your dreams, your character and your personality. Be mindful of the fact that some images and elements are bad Feng Shui for the bedroom.

This applies to images of water, big mirrors facing the bed, as well as images inappropriate for a bedroom, such as violent, sad or depressing images.

2. Second in its feng shui importance is the wall you see as soon as you enter your home or your business space.

If you face a wall first thing you come into your business or into your home, by all means focus on making it carry beautiful, high quality of energy. You can do that with art, or even better, a big wall mirror, a row of lush tall plants, vibrant wall paint or all of the above.

Be mindful not to hang a big mirror facing your front door, as a mirror facing the door (especially the front door) will push Chi, or energy, away, thus is considered bad feng shui.

3. Third is the wall you face while working at your desk.

If you are facing a wall in your workspace all day long, your personal energy is restricted and blocked. Here is what you can do when you have to face a blocking wall for several hours a day: hang good art or photos of places that inspire you, of people that helped you grow or people you admire, hang your diplomas and certifications, etc.

You get the idea. The purpose is to transform a blocking wall into an inspiration wall. Instead of having your energy blocked, now you will be absorbing high energy coming from inspiring to you items.

Get creative and get empowered in your living or working space; the good energy is spreading around very quickly and you will see yourself reaping the benefits in no time!

Feng Shui Your Desk For Career Success

office-fsHave you used feng shui around your desk? It's a great way to "test drive" feng shui, to see how well it works for you -- while creating a more functional and ENJOYABLE workspace.

WHERE TO START

In feng shui, we work with a 3x3 grid called a BAGUA (said "bagg-wahh"). The grid is placed over your floorplan, and can look like a tic-tac-toe board, or perhaps the face of a clock, seen from above. With this, we can organize any room, home, or office into areas, each with its own color and design themes. So, let's pretend you are floating over your office, looking down into it. And each section related to a different AREA of your life. So let's pretend that you can see the bagua grid that's overlayed onto your floor plan. Starting clockwise from your left -- about the "eight o'clock" area of the clock -- the design themes are:

knowledge

family and security

money

fame

romance

creativity

helpful people and travel

career

At the CENTER of the clock--the middle of the bagua grid -- the theme is health.

USING FENG SHUI AT WORK

You can apply these same design principles to your DESK, too. In fact, when you're new to feng shui, this can be a great way to begin. You'll soon have a better organized work area, and perhaps a little "feng shui magic" will boost your career as well.

ORGANIZING YOUR INFORMATION

Sit at your desk, and start at the left side. In feng shui, this is the KNOWLEDGE area. It's an ideal place to store your reference books, such as your dictionary, manuals, and anything else you often reach for when you're working.

GETTING THE SUPPORT

If you have a counter or bookcase to the left of your desk, the top may be the perfect place for symbols of FAMILY (family photos) and Security (anything that says "old money" to you).

CARING FOR YOUR FINANCES

The back left corner of your desk is the MONEY area. Whether your monitor is there or something else, be sure to keep this corner clean, dust-free, and uncluttered. If there's space in back of your monitor for photos or posters, this is the perfect place for pictures of what you plan to do (or own) when you have an even better income.

BEING RECOGNIZED

At the back center area of your desk, or on the wall directly in front of you, take advantage of this FAME area. Display awards, diplomas, certificates, and anything that tells others about your accomplishments. Add a little red -- the best color for this area -- to draw attention to your new display.

FEELING THE LOVE  EVEN AT WORK

At the right corner of your desk, and on the wall behind it, the focus is ROMANCE. This is where you'll place photos of your sweetie, or symbols of love and partnerships. If you have flowers or pens at this area of your workspace, remember: Everything in twos... no "onesies"! (Of course, if you're hoping for a date this weekend, put two fresh flowers in a vase in this area. But, be prepared: This might work even better than you'd expected.)

THINKING CREATIVELY

Closer to you on the right, it's your CREATIVITY area. Be sure to keep symbols of what you do that's original, as well as tools for creating things at work. Whether this is a stapler or a set of pens and paintbrushes, the emphasis should be on creativity. And, if you're a fan of Disney or other cartoons, those figures and pictures go in this area. (If you have children, this is the perfect place for pictures of your little darlings, too.)

NETWORKING FOR WORK

At your immediate and front right, it's the helpful PEOPLE and TRAVEL area. This is where you'll put your Rolodex or Palm, or whatever you use to store names and phone numbers. This is also a good place to display vacation-related items and pictures.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR WELL-BEING

And, the center of your desk is the HEALTH area. If you want a healthy career, your work area should be clean & "happy looking" at the center. With spring on the way, consider a new blotter or other desktop covering in sunny yellow; that's the best color for the Health area.

REACHING YOUR PROFESSIONAL GOALS

Finally, your chair represents your CAREER area. Keep your chair well-oiled (if it's on wheels or springs) and clean. Polish any chrome on it, and keep it dusted. If you're on any kind of mat that protects the floor underneath, make sure that your mat looks fresh and new. If it doesn't, a replacement may be a small expense for the potential benefits. Or, sometimes a little floor polish will renew a plastic floor mat and make it look

Feng Shui Money Tips: Count your Blessings like Gold!

lingot-or.png

Count your Blessings like gold

Take a few moments every evening to think about all the good things that happened to you today and to express your gratitude for what you have received. Small things count, too, it doesn’t all have to be spectacular. It's not what happened that's important; it's getting in the habit of focusing on the positive side of things every day that matters.

The more you notice, appreciate, and express gratitude for blessings received, no matter how small, the more good things will come your way, including money.

A true experience of prosperity is determined not by how much money you have, but by how well you notice and enjoy what is already present in your life. As you de-clutter, repair, and accessorize your wealth area keep in mind your final intentions and be positive about the path that you are taking to bring abundance in your life.  You will start by celebrating being rich in friends and family, rich with good moments, rich with ideas then material blessings will come to you as well.

Feng Shui Money Tips: How are you handling your money?

wallet.png

Growing wealth will involve good placement in your environment but it is also very important to address your own personal thoughts and behavior towards money. Wealth starts with attitude.

Pay attention to how you handle money every day.

Do you keep paper money neatly sorted in your wallet or money clip, or is it jammed in there any old way, or crumpled up at the bottom of your pocket?

Clean the clutter out of your purse and wallet, and start handling your money as though you value it.

Balance your checkbook regularly and pay your bills on time.

Put your checkbook in an attractive cover (choose green, purple, red, blue, or black) and keep it in the wealth area of your desk - that's the rear left corner again -- or in the wealth area of your office.

Feng Shui Money Tips: the "Money plant"!

plant-1.pngplant-2.pngplant-3.png

Add a healthy plant with round leaves

According to the Bagua, the wealth area of your home or office is associated with the wood element. Wood can be represented by a wooden piece of furniture, the green color on any surface, plants and fresh flowers.

The Chinese community has been using for decades certain specific plants to grow their wealth.

A plant symbolizes the growth of your capital.

You can use a jade plant, a money plant, any healthy and “friendly” (no cactus here!) will be good for the wealth area.

Feng Shui Money Tips: Bring the Water element!

fish-bowl.png

Use the element of Water to enhance your wealth area.

Aquariums, images representing water and water features like fountains are a boost for the wealth area of your home or office.

A lot of Chinese restaurants showcase aquariums or fish imageries at their entrances. An Element of water at the entrance symbolizes new business, new clients coming through their doors.

In your home or your office, a tabletop fountain with the soothing sound of flowing water is perfect. Water fountains that collect water, symbolize collecting or acquiring wealth.

The water element is symbolic of the flow and clarity of life-force energy. Position the fountain so that the water flows toward the center of the room for maximum results. Running water helps move positive chi energy through the room, while promoting a soothing, calm environment.

Feng Shui Money Tips: The colors of prosperity!

colors-wealth.png

Accent your money areas with the colors green, red or purple.

Green symbolizes vitality and growth

Red brings energy and power

Purple is the best color for wealth.

Gold signifies luxury. Donald Trump uses a lot of gold for his properties.

You can place a big chunk of purple amethyst in your wealth area and have décor accents in those colors.

You can use these colors on your window treatments, your soft furnishing, your accessories.  You don't have to use all those colors. You can just choose one. It is important to make the space pleasing to you and respect your design style.

You can also place a bowl of green and purple grapes (real or artificial) in the wealth area of your kitchen, to symbolize abundance filling your home. If you use real grapes, it's okay to eat them, just add more from time to time so the grapes remain fresh and the bowl is always more than half full.

Feng Shui Money Tips: Enhance your wealth area!

bowl-of-coin.png

Enhance your area with symbols of prosperity:

You can place a bowl of coins (add your loose change to it every day), a "lucky bamboo" plant, or anything that symbolizes success and prosperity to you.

There are lots of Chinese luck symbols available, but you don't have to use them unless you want to.

A picture of your dream house, or a model of that luxury car you long for, is an effective money symbol because it has personal meaning for you.

Feng Shui Money Tips: Check your Front door for wealth!

front-door.png

Your Front Door can Enhance Your Wealth

Is your front door hidden? Does your home or office face away from the street?

If your entrance cannot easily be seen from the street, opportunities and income have a harder time getting to you.

Invite chi to your front door by placing lights or moving objects or colors along the way. Your front door is the gateway to opportunities, so make sure the condition and appearance of the door are inviting and that doorknobs and hinges works smoothly.

Feng Shui Money Tips: De-clutter your wealth area!

declutter1.png

To enhance Your Wealth Area you need to:

Clear out any clutter from these important areas.

Clutter is a sign of stagnant energy, and clutter in your wealth areas can clog up your cash flow. Getting rid of clutter is one of the most powerful ways to shift the energy up.

Fix things that are broken

Anything that doesn't work as it should is a sign of something wrong in the area of your life that corresponds to that part of your space. It's time to do something about that loose doorknob, non-working light switch, stuck file drawer, or clock that doesn't keep correct time, to name just a few possible examples. Remove items like these from your wealth area or fix them so they work properly.
