A place to seat in the foyer...

The foyer being the first space that you see when entering a home, it is important to make it inviting.

According to Feng Shui, The entrance of your home is also the "mouth of Chi", which is the entrance for good energy. This energy nourishes all your home, your goals and dreams. You want to make sure that your entrance allows the most good energy to come in your space with some great Feng Shui tips for your home entrance.

Here are some great examples of design for a welcoming and elegant foyer.

Let me know which one is your favorite...

A mirror in the entrance is a great way to enhance the good energy and double the luck!

All the Feng Shui natural elements are represented in the entrance. Water with the mirror, earth with the coral accent and ceramic vase, wood with the 3 stools and green plant, metal with the metal Buddha accent and the white console, Fire with the abundance of wood items that nourishes the fire.

Love this well lit entrance. This is really creating a great energy .

Foyer design- Woodson & Rummerfield

Beautiful mirror and lots of great Feng shui elements with the Asian figurines and the gracious orchids.

Love the ikat style fabric on this sofette. The wall medalion is very vintage and elegant.

A very balanced and chic foyer. The dark wood lacquered console is one of my favorite piece. The simplicity of this classic style foyer is very pleasing.

Which one of these foyer is your favorite?

The Ikat Fabric look in Interior Design

Ikat Fabrics Ikats have been around for several centuries. It is rare when something that was developed so long ago becomes so popular in modern times. The word “ikat” means “to tie” or “to bind”. This describes the process and also the fabric itself.

Even though, many of today’s Ikats may not be “true” in the sense of how the fabric is constructed, the pattern lives on and is easily recognized when used as a pattern in interior design.

In this day and age where everything seems to be focused on the next “big thing” or the new trend, the ikat will always be regarded as a classic and timeless element of design.

Here some beautiful furniture pieces and pillows by Madeline Weinrib  with her signature Ikat design fabrics:

There are no limits to ways of using Ikat beautiful fabrics as they come is various patterns and colors. Ikat fabric always adds an elegant cheerful touch to a design or suggests far away travels and create a beautiful focal point in any room.
